Now that I don’t have direct access to themes on my BlackBerry, I think it’s a little obvious that I’m slumping into a depression about my love for RIM and everything I once paraded so hard for. HedoneDesign released Avio and I couldn’t just sit by without getting my hands into it, so I grabbed a friends Style 9670 and activated it!
Avio surprised me quite a bit! Immediately I was trying to slap the homescreen with my thumbs only to be reminded that I was using a BlackBerry 6.0 device. But that was the small complaint, and hardly the developer’s problem.
This is a piece of art, a deeper expressive design chalk full of custom made icons, svg, menus, fonts and more. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Hedone take this much time to create such a rich original theme.
Compatibility is like all HedoneDesign’s best products, OS 5.0 & 6.0 devices beginning at Curve 8330, 8350i, 8520, 8530, 8900, 9300 & 9330 series. Bold 9000, 9650, 9700, 9780 & 9788 series. Pearl 9100, 9105, Storm 9500 series, Tour 9630, Style 9670 and Torch 9800 versions.
This is the type of theme that makes me feel I’ve been wispped away and brought to a warm sandy beach with a light cool breeze blowing. Like other themes in their library I noticed a strict and functional mechanical feel to the movements. Menu’s and button hit me right on and I feel a necessary need to fully click down on the trackpad whenever selecting an action. A theme you want to feel inside and out is a theme I’ll always recommend buying.
Some users are a bit of the more plain and boring type might want to stay afar since this is the type of theme that wil make your BlackBerry feel like a brand new device with it’s own unique overlay. I am not that guy. 
I really like the colors, the insignia’s, the aviation theme and those iPhone-like perfect squared icons with white borders.. Digging the vintage – instagram - pizzazz!
Avio is of course premium priced. $6.99 to be exact. Maybe to rich for most, but for those who don’t mind spending a little extra I can’t deny Avio made me and a little BlackBerry Style very very happy today.
