It’s no secret that bbt Designs has some of the most innovative and user friendly themes available. But another fact is that he’s making the most adored and cherished themes available on your BlackBerry Smartphone too. bbt’s Gloss is now gleaming on Storm/Torch, and oh it’s delectable.

Gloss is now available on Storm 9500 series, Torch 9800, Curve 8300 series, 8500 series, 8900 series, and 9300 series, Bold 9000, 9650, 9700, 9780, and Tour 9630. Support for 5.0 and 6.0 devices in these series’.
Let’s not get it twisted we love themes. And the Berryfication team/community especially has a special lease on high quality theme Development. We work with just about everyone. And many builders have a unique style. Some much more than others. bbt Designs is one of a kind. After Metro gained it’s momentum users began to forward their screenshots over Twitter, forums, Facebook and around friends and family. That was all it took. Now every BlackBerry user that knows what MobiHand is knows bbt’s themes. Although he is available on BlackBerry App World now too. I’m just making an example of high quality.

After spending a fair amount of time with the 4 color versions on my Bold 9650/6.0 I was introduced to his Touch build on my ladies Storm 9550. And it’s just as amazing here as it has been on my Bold. Users on any touch version get the same straight dock as all 6.0 builds whereas 5.0 users on non-touch get a very unique curved dock.
Remember bbt hand coded the SVG in this theme and some features such as the curved dock didn’t play nice with the 6.0 Theme Studio. However for those still on a 5.0 OS if your getting this theme I can say that the curved dock is one of the most incredible features I’ve ever viewed and experienced in a BlackBerry theme.

What’s another feature that bbt Designs illuminates? Done! I’m going to have to speak for everyone here and say it’s the way Gloss allows us to just about hide everything, Hide your icon dock, hide today, hide the weather spot, shrink the bottom dock into a tiny strip to match the top dock which is also a tiny strip. Now you have the most awesome view of your wallpaper(s). This is what themes are about to users. This is winning! But it doesn’t end there…
Enter the Options Panel. A familiar zone for anyone who’s used a bbt theme before. Maybe he didn’t invent it but he’s perfected it. And Gloss does it better than it’s EVER been done before. Mixing glossy colors (5 to be exact) with 4 different opacity levels (95%, 75%, 60%, 0%) Which ever color you create will change all your homescreen elements. You will live here. And that’s a good thing! Never before has matching a custom/favorite wallpaper been this fun and the possibilities go on for a seemingly immeasurable.

Because of the differences with touch and non-touch interfaces, bbt Designs is very responsive to the needs of both users and the variations in the design. The touch versions walk you through how-to hide docks and reveal them. Press the ESC button to show the area’s that are hideable, Press the red icons to hide things and the white boxes to reveal them. To get back out of this mode simply press the red bar at the bottom. Landscape mode is fully supported on Storm 9500 series but not on Torch 9800.
The last feature I feel is important to cover is the different color options and the choice between OS6 icons, or Custom icons. The custom icons are the versions I always choose. bbt Designs builds all his own icons. Gloss has a beautiful one-of-a-kind set. For me is not a question. However the OS6 versions look amazing too so it’s really a personal preference. The other options are if you choose Red, Blue, Red Black, or Blue Black. The Red/Blue area’s you can see in the image above. This is your highlight area’s. I love both and own both. I cannot pick just one. Then you have the option to choose either just Red or just Blue, or go with Red Black or Blue Black. The Red/Blue versions have the WHITE messages screens and they look clear. This is a more common view for themes. But the Red Black and Blue Black offer a sleek dark change, making these area’s Black. bbt writes..Gloss Black versions use smooth grey fonts on black backgrounds, optimal for use in dark/lowlight settings, and support customizable font only in menus. Non-black versions use default black font on white background, and support customizable font in most areas of the device… There’s also a few issues with a very small list of 3rd party apps using the Black versions of Gloss. So please read the descriptions at the product pages too.

I can’t be more excited about this theme and all it’s wonders. What I can do is give you more insight from us and myself. I use more themes than almost any other BlackBerry user in the world. bbt’s Gloss is one of the most rooted experiences ever. Get a copy if you think this is a product you’d like to sink into as well.
