bbt Designs has made only 2 themes now and we’re already looking at him as one of the strongest theme builders on BlackBerry. bbt’s SLATE theme is so versatile with high function and elegance it’ll be a surprise if most of you don’t pick one up.


After bbt Designs showed the BlackBerry and Berryfication world just how serious he was with Metro and then the Metro v2.0 releases we knew he was special but could he pull an intelligent sophomore release off?

Well SLATE is here and we’re happy to report just how damn sweet it is! And with perfect timing for all the real theme junkies that didn’t upgrade to a leaked OS just to get some 6.0 build that wasn’t very stable nor did most of you throw down on BlackBerry’s 9800 monster. Nope you guys were right here arm & arm with Berryfication just waiting for the next sick treat.


This is a theme that proves you can have a great functioning theme as well as the feature packed mind trip and even round it all off with a nice friendly wallpaper exchangeable ability too! After you make one great theme we’ve seen it before, and many builders will either try to outdo that first product. Or they’ll release something “safe.” In my opinion bbt took it just the way nature intended it and he went hard but kept tuning & tweaking until the product was finished.

Hidden Shortcuts & Hideable Today. Yes you launch everything from your Weather, Today screen, down to a slick little Options panel that allows you to specialize your own look and match the color scheme at home with the wallpaper your most comfortable with on any given day. Next he’s given you useful Hidden Shortcuts such as the Clock, Notifications, click the Battery for your Options and more.


I really like that bbt Designs didn’t settle for a Storm 9500 series version until he had another powerful landscape homescreen as well. That’s just not an easy achievement. So basically anyway the Storm rolls round in your palm, you’ll be able to access things and do so swiftly. Most Storm owners claim to prefer landscape or use it much more than portrait. So there’s a big big score. I’m sure someone’s reading this now thinking.. “SOLD” and before you were just browsing. ;)

Well that’s not all kids. The big thing about bbt Designs themes is his ability to give you a versatile homescreen. Remember that Options panel I spoke about a few ago? Well what your customizing is Tint & Opacity. Therefore you can meld out your own favorite look anytime you want, on the fly.


Obviously the non-touch devices can also launch a slew of Hidden Shortcuts or Layout changes. Such as * Reveals your 8 hidden dock, or the # Hides it. + Activates the Options panel. Z Reveals the Weather or X Hides it. G shows the Today and H hides it. And for Shortcuts L = Profiles. @ = Manage Connections. K = Calendar and N = BBM. M = Messages and $ is your SMS/MMS and finally the Spacebar is slot 10 in app list.
