Is this the first BlackBerry theme to launch with compatibility for ALL OS7 devices? I think so. But I could be wrong. Far as I’ve noticed BEAT by Walker Themes is easily one of the most attractive. And that list is impressive. Besides 7.x he’s also covered all 6.0 devices as well.
BEAT is simple on only the icons. Leaving them along Walker focuses on the homescreen. Giving his signature style to your battery meter, signal meter and that hot hot Android style clock too!
The layout is stock with BB6-7 tray style access. Focus remains untouched as well. But it’s those focal points up top an a killer ‘electric’ wallpaper in the center that all steal the show for users like myself and many of our fans that haven’t seen much in terms of originality like this. Only a few other builders have taken their knowledge and patience to producing themes like these. And as time goes by, even those devs have slimmed.
Before I could get tired of another theme that’s only compatible with 6.0 tops.. Walker cruised in and laid his BEATS down. Okay I know that was cheesy, but it felt great to write! This is one of the most professional looking themes I’ve seen in a while as well. Sure it’s not as technically tweaked as some of his previous stuff. But then if you do go that route on BB7 you run the risk of having no wallpaper in the apps screen and some pretty messed up folders (icons all end up invisible). We’ve got to work with what works. And that’s what he’s done here.
BEAT makes up for tons of clashing rainbow twisted messes and annoying BB6 themes titled to have BB7 icons in them, all of which keep spilling over App World like emesis. With all the simple bits just so and the custom bits sprinkled on top I think $1.99 is a decent price to ask for. Last I looked it was #3 on the new themes list via my device.
