I’m loving the original idea’s the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is spinning into the minds of Developers! Elements Multimedia just released BlackOut, a social memory game that lets you define your own themes and tweet-challenge your best scores!

Global High Score Boards. Top 100 scores of all time, tracked globally. Tweet the scores you beat. Tweet your high score to challenge others into play.

I saw this game late the other night in BlackBerry App World and of course I picked up a copy. At just $1.99 I’d feel as if I was cheating myself by not grabbing one. Just a few minutes into this simple game developed in Adobe AIR 2.7 and I was hooked! The game is built very simply. No themes, no overly used ideals. You won’t be saying “haven’t I played this game before?” You’ll be loving a fresh set of images over and over again. BlackOut uses the public web albums API of Picasa to download randomly the pictures of your choice.
FEATURES
• Define your own theme of cards to play memory
• Top 100 highscores all time are tracked globally
• Tweet your highscore, mention the one you beat
• Twitter account is optional, single player enabled

My suggestion is for all you PlayBook owners to rush over to App World, and snatch up a copy. $1.99 is hard to argue with, when the entire idea is based around custom user creation. Plus the real treat I’d say is the challenge between keeping and beating our own themes! That’s fresh thinking. Check out the BlackOut Game here. Or..
