Block design is a study that’s been researched in many variants over the years including software testing, experimental and algebraic geometry. HedoneDesign’s latest release Cubix is welcomed in what seems to be a bow to the many great minds that have come before them. Without being overly complicated, Developer HedoneDesign gives the user custom made text icons throughout.

Structure is set up in two different sized boxes at home and a 3rd size shown as the icons throughout the Application screen. Home consists of user chosen apps, signal and battery display meters. This shows a perfect balance since one box is a perfect square (4×4) of the other. Then your Application screen shows all the same sized boxes a medium size that’s also reflected upon custom 3rd party icons if installed. Again balanced perfectly. Movement is fluid as liquid. With fast speeds.

Visually Cubix is rather basic. After balancing some 3rd party apps most judges agreed it brought out the character of the theme design. Though without the dressing of colorful icons it can be a show-off toy much like binary time clocks.

Functionality is spot-on. Given the mathematical expression, text icons and simple appearance, Cubix runs like the sun. It’s brilliant.

The overall experience is a fascinating product that blends intelligence with quick access. Bringing out the perfection of the mind in technology to capture in the eye is fascinating. Surely worth our time. Another piece of the HedoneDesign experience leaves us craving for more.
