Not just a high quality theme design team, HedoneDesign is also the jack of all trades too. This time they’ve ventured into the popular look-a-like style of the new upcoming Playbook by Research In Motion Limited, aptly titled GoPlay. Using only basic icons HedoneDesign does a fine job of recreating this new product for the BlackBerry Smartphone.
Built strikingly similar to the home layout of the Playbook tablet. Navigation of both icon layout is flawless. Static icons at the top resembled that of the Playbook move separate from those user defined icons at the bottom of your screen. No hiccups or bumps here either. Moving either of the sliding docks will not affect that of the other dock. Showing a strong arm for SVG’s and coding. However the structure is also somewhat redundant every judge had something to say about the use of basic icons yet understood the ideal behind a replication of Playbooks QNX Platform.
Visually this is a nice looking theme. Though it doesn’t offer much new to the BlackBerry users on leaked 6.0 OS’s or those on the Bold 9780, Torch 9800 ect. The theme is a view of the Playbook on a BlackBerry therefore it’s visually expectations aren’t extremely high. The idea behind the Playbook at this point is really about what’s under the hood. And this theme surely brings one of the strongest engineers of theme design, however it doesn’t change the quality of your operating system. The layout, sizing and homescreens all looked fantastic with 3rd party icons.
The biggest enhancement of GoPlay is the functionality. HedoneDesign brings a graceful approach to themes with standard icons, menu’s, performance it all comes to order here. A modest change to the basic view of BlackBerry 6 which is almost the standard OS. HedoneDesign products are distinct, with GoPlay everything is conclusive, pure. A well made change and ode to the newest product as we all can’t wait to grasp the real thing.
