Nova is not complicated. It’s “Less, but better” as Dieter Rams a major influence of HedoneDesign would say. Nova is a deep color whether you chose Purple or Blue. Both are present in one download. When you stay involved in the design of BlackBerry themes as we do you rarely see things that surprise you. The Nova theme is a huge achievement for HedoneDesign. From the icons, graphics, to the navigation, it’s a win.
The build is solid. No over the top ideals, nothing to leave users scratching their heads to wonder why was this placed here and for what. Nova is the sum of it’s parts. Even the inventive TodayPlus area is animated with just the right pop, then hidden just as quickly.
On the view, I felt the designer pulled a sci-fi meets industrial visual design into the final product. Opening up 2 colors giving more eyes the ability to actually want this theme someplace where they could mostly gaze into it. Those brand new icons really compliment the graphics, colors and feel like modernized 1970′s furniture and kitchen wear. Maybe a glance will not reveal this, but a long date with the product will stir all kinds of feelings.
The navigation is not something you’ll need to read in a “how-to”. Just pick up n’ play, build your layout however your most comfortable. The product meet all the standards then catapults past the competitive designs. Nova is one theme, you definitely want to get caught checking out.
