Getting a new theme for your BlackBerry has become almost an intimate experience. For some, even myself I try to close my doors to opinion and just breath. I imagine I’m walking through a house filled with unseen paintings. Theme design is a culture that drives creativity, sales and fixes an addiction for some. Walker Themes latest XAPIRE is a product that goes beyond our expectations.
Let’s crack right into the structure and navigation. XAPIRE has a very balanced layout, pulling the custom font-clock as your focal point. The Storm judge said, “I love the use of the arrows indicating the rising dock and the use of the escape button to hide all icons. That little gem surprised me!” In the navigation no matter how you hold your BlackBerry both Torch and Storm auto format to the orientation. The Torch judge pointed out that, “even the entire 4, 8, or 12 icon option with font stylized clock appears and flawlessly! One of the Style 9670 judges said, “this is a theme well worth the price tag, it functions without hiccups..”
In the category of visual design I’d have to say this theme rolls off my thumb pads like a perfect circle. Our other 9670 judge said, “I really love the simplicity of design here.” And I couldn’t agree more. But I’d also like to point out the aptitude that went into every little detail. It’s like he was guiding airplanes or missiles when he placed every pixel in it’s place. One of our Style judges also said “The attention to detail & creativity is above and beyond that of most theme developers.” and that, “The overall effect of the theme is artistry at it’s best.”
XAPIRE balloons up high in the department of functionality also. 4 different homescreen layouts (+4 in Torch landscape mode) are all controlled by one set of arrows and one press of the back [ESC] button. One of our Torch judges stated, “the fade in/out of apps and between screens is flawless!” The method in which the breathing focus appears like sharp rays of light blasted in unpredictable ways and draws us in like hypnosis. This product’s value surpasses it’s cost by long stretch.
With all considerations, one complaint the Torch judge had was, “it’s hard to find anything wrong with this theme.” He did say, “I’d love a shortcut to the Clock and Sound Profile on the homescreen. And one of our Style judges said, “I wish there was an easy way to bring up the different layouts without having to hit the arrow. I prefer the corners and you have to hit the arrow and then close it again.” Again a small complaint for a product that she went on to say this about: “It’s gonna be difficult to find something to replace it! Going to be on my Style for a long time!”
