Always exciting for me when I find a new theme from a developer that I wouldn’t normally purchase themes from. The developer I speak of is Adorno. Known mainly for their Alarm Application. This time their coming at us with Blue & Orange Light Theme.
In my opinion it’s icons, icons, and more icons that will start a following. I have quite a few themes that don’t add up in other categories but they nail the icon-set. So they pull me like Garfield to a lasagna.
Not a bad looking wallpaper just a little ‘under-wow’d”. But this is why you can customize right. I’ll do that eventually I’m sure but to be honest I naturally prefer the whole pack in one. I digress. This theme has the icons I want so have it I shall.
This is without a doubt WJD Designs most advanced work thus far. Previously released as SIX (Real Working Analog Clock and Calendar) has now been updated to SIX 2.0 (9500 series devices only) at this time.
Your still getting the “Analog Clock” and “Calendar” trial downloads. The AppClock, and CalendarIcon both retail for $2.49 each from Toysoft Development. WJD Designs provides generous coupons to both apps if you should decide to purchase them after your trial period runs out. I found that both apps look great when active on SIX or SIX 2.0 And the apps on other themes are more of a preference, since they are larger icon displays. I only ever use the CalendarIcon on a few select themes. And never the Analog Clock except here.
Ninja Themes has quickly moved up my “what’s his next move” list. I haven’t quite decided if he’s a theme developer or a comedian yet, but the prior seems to have me in smile. Lucky enough to test BlackOut for the last couple weeks, I am still putting it on regularly.
That’s mostly something I do past one week for Elecite, Hedone Design and a randomly inserted theme here and there. BlackOut though like his UltiMatte Nano theme this is dark, simple, and built with a pleasure clicking icon-set. Looks really great on the 9500 series devices.
Elecite makes another theme your going to want to gaze into for a very very long time. Ember one of the sleekest themes I’ve even seen. I can pick so many Elecite themes and say, “here is a theme that defines me as a BlackBerry junkie.”
Buy it, download, review and Berryfi’s me as a product specialist. Don’t let the picture fool you. This theme is so much sicker in real life.
Ember bangs out 6 to 7 fully customizable icons at home to set you straight. One of which is a hide-away. A weather spot next to the most established modern clock display I’ve ever seen from the Elecite team. Then another set of 9 to 11 fixed bar-shaped icons to set your home just right. Your TodayPlus is present on most devices.
Ahh Eden. It’s a place to exit to. And a really clean bright theme from the likes of Jmerhi and his DigitalSite Design company. If this is your first time buying a theme from Jmerhi rest assured. Many of their themes are made with some unique well detailed icon-sets and screen transitions.
I own quite nearly all of their themes. One of their biggest hits, Neverland (no not Peter flying Pan) but a nice place to escape too.. was reviewed in the highest regard by both fans and BlackBerry news sites combined.
Eden has 5 static icons on a banner across the bottom of the screen at home. These icons include a launch icon, the messages folder, calendar, phone, and options. The launch icon pops 6 t0 8 hidden (depending on the series BlackBerry Smartphone) fully customizable icons across the far left and far right hand sides of the screen at home.
I, for one, am NOT big on the idea of look-alikes. Whether that is a bad Tom Cruise impersonator or a theme designed to make my phone look like someone else made it. I spent just short of the national debt on this evil machine to make sure it looks like, well, an EVIL MACHINE.
No point in building that Doomsday Device if it just looks like a Care-Bear or vacuum cleaner attachment, is there?
Because your not going to see this type of theme made often, and only the brave will attempt to recreate something of such undying beauty. I give you Cocky Culture and their renaissance styled original theme “da Vinci”.
Many themes do try to give that leg up look, all eyes on me attitude. But it’s just that type of attitude that Tony never pushes onto his fans or any of the BlackBerry Smartphone guru’s that have come to love him.
KD theme anyone? Yes please. How about a some blasted neon snapshots icons to set you right? Your just looking back at the pictures now huh. I know what people like. And so did KD when he developed his all new Slides theme. 
If you own a BlackBerry Storm series Smartphone and/or you’ve had it for a while, you may be familiar with KD. I hope so because he’s one guy I’ve kept a keen eye on for quite some time.
After taking a small break from the speed at which he was producing new product earlier this year KD surprised us with his HAWT new comeback Panels. I can’t even put words to some of the transitions your eyes see with a well made KD theme. Icons pulse, seeming alive. the structure is well designed so it’s not some trick to take attention away from shifty work. Nope he’s making treats for himself and sharing them with BlackBerry junkies. I say good for him. I get a full grilled out star maker smile when I discover he’s dropped something new. I’ll be honest.
Elecite comes strong with their much anticipated BlackBerry Theme version of the Windows Phone 7 replica. And without a doubt the sharpest we’ve seen to date.
Elecite brings their usual sharp new custom icon set with more breathtaking images for your eyes to dance around.
Here I am giving you another treat. Yes you read that Theme Developer name right, my friend BT Design’s Comfort Theme shall not go unnoticed. So here let me kind of break it out and down for you.
Because I’m beginning to notice a trend. Yeah you too. Well let’s lay it out then. BT Design has a real quota. But unlike the catastrophic piles of rehashed trash and replica’s being refurbished in the Theme Design category on your favorite website. He shows true originality. And in this day and age. Okay in this BlackBerry Smartphone market, there is only a fistful of major players in theme development.
What a happy name, “Rainbow.” The name alone makes me want to run around the neighborhood giving cookies to strangers, stopping long enough to hug the bunnies and other cute woodland creatures that might just happen by (I would, however, have to exclude Wolverines and Bears from this list for, hopefully, obvious reasons – they shed, of course and, frankly, I have absolutely NOTHING to go with fur these days…).
This has been called a “Springtime” theme, but I feel the colors alone elicit a feeling of a summer-of-fire… Burnished and burning, hot and beautiful. In my heady days, the days of “swine and roses” (or is that “wine and roses” – so hard to tell…or remember…), this would have been a modern marvel when mixed with the right chemical combination.
Elecite constantly brings a light to the unenlightened, point to the dull. This time we’re lucky enough to meet with Elecite on Phase a sharpened theme that is hardly a time of passing. Phase opens up new options. I’m a big fan of panel icons. Especially when they’re done at this level.
Phase gives you two home screen area’s.. Your first is the 6 large panels you’ll see right away. Handing you some necessary jump zones highly useful to the home screen. Need to call someone? Hit the address book and your halfway there. Schedule a shift change, yeah that’s the idea your a paw print away from the most well thought out panel screen I’ve seen to date.
