[Review] Seven Point Ten by BBThemes

If you want a dope theme I’ve always been quick to point directly to my good friend Dave over at BBThemes. There’s something special about devs that will spend as much time as it takes to release a great product, without rushing it out. Add Seven Point Ten to the must have list. Plus it boosts those sick BlackBerry 10 icons. Users holding onto their OS6, OS7.1 devices impatiently awaiting a Z10 or Q10 deserve this theme.

[Featured Developer] CJH – maker of Doodle.M, 7 Colors Bubble, Classic theme & more!

[Featured Developer] CJH – maker of Doodle.M, 7 Colors Bubble, Classic theme & more!

7 Colors Bubble Theme shown
Once in a very rare while I find a developer that really impresses me. Once in a while I meet someone with integrity, style, passion. But most importantly – to customers – some pretty attractive themes. Before we have no more themes which I still find odd, the company that embraced such an original culture is going to be the first to move away from it. But hey things change. We evolve. And who knows where some of these talented individuals might find themselves. Hopefully still working in 3rd-party development for BlackBerry or at least doing what they’re passionate about.

[Update] Cocky Culture – 3 themes Now on OS 7 & 7.1

If you’ve had anything to do with themes or original design & BlackBerry in the past year or two then you already know the name. His name is Tony. He’s the reason for many theme developers. The reason we sought more than just a “Today Screen” or pardon the pun but “iPhone” icons. He’s done his work his way. He’s held major contracts with sports organization. He was the first person I asked to make the Berryfication theme. And only one we allowed it to be official.

The Swagger is still here. He’s actually hired one of the most talented individuals involved in theme development to get his themes over to 7.0, 7.1 before he goes into theme retirement. Sorry but with RIM finally cutting the plug on this culture that was at one time exactly while I got into all of this, started Berryfication, made over 500 BlackBerry developer contacts. Tony taught me a lot about pride and exquisite design. I will continue to support his products no matter which platform he brings talent too.

[Review] Equis by Pootermobile – Another Knock-out theme!

[Review] Equis by Pootermobile

I couldn’t wait to show this theme off! Pootermobile came with it when he decided to use many of the elements found in BlackBerry 10. At least the style we’re expecting at this point. Things could change, but that doesn’t change the fact that this theme is a must have for anyone who demands more than just a wallpaper change. The theme is called Equis..

Features:

• Default OS7/OS6 layout

• Wallpaper friendly

• Custom icons

• Media player skinned

[Review] Cosmic by BBornot2B

Some theme devs will only get better and better over time. But the stunt of support may have many moving again to other platforms just like OS7 did when RIM decided not to support  theme studio back when many devs where waiting patiently for another software that never came. Even though hundreds of RIM developers went to Android & iOS, that may not mean RIM doesn’t have some sort of plan to keep these guys on board. Or maybe another purpose? We’ll see.

Anyways let’s take a look at Cosmic by BBornot2B, because it is quite attractive and one of my favorite new themes! I’ve had plenty of time to check Cosmic out on both Bold 9930, and Torch 9850. BBornot2B is paying close attention to the needs of each user.

Features:

• Full custom icon set

• Custom unread icons

• Weather slot on top banner and lockscreen

• Custom battery and signal metters

• OS7 available

• Customised colors / fonts / dialogs / menus

[Review] Volver by SamgbxDesigns

For me to see a new theme by SamgbxDesigns is rare and practically unheard of. He’s not your average 3rd-party developer. He does what he wants when he wants. And draws his inspiration from some of the from of the most talented sources, including himself.

• Default OS7 layout

• Wallpaper friendly

• Brand New Custom icons

• Media player skinned

[Review] KPOP by Walker Themes

[Review] KPOP by Walker Themes

There’s nothing Mr. Themes can’t do. His brand new theme release is KPOP and boy is it loud. If you’re not familiar with the subculture, KPOP is an abbreviation for Korean pop, & Korean popular music. There’s some awesome drum beat and even better videos thanks to this genre. It will be playing on the radio in 5 mins, if you hear it turn the bass up! Now as for the theme, this is not a novelty. Like the music is here to stay, so is this awesome theme. All OS 5, 6, 7 & 7.1 devices covered, a cool weather spot (bouncing icon) & sick metro iconset to boot.

Features:

• Custom circle METRO ICON SET ( Blue Skinned )

• Wallpaper friendly

• Typhograhy colours tones design

• Weather Slot #21th App order ( Animated when Focus-in)

• Custom Battery ( Percentage )

• Custom Signal ( Wording from WORST to BEST )

• Clean, fast, functional, stylish and easy to use

• No homescreen status

• All features on potrait mode work perfectly on landscape mode.

[Review] Kahel by Pootermobile

The World Of Pootermobile has become my most frequented BlackBerry site over the last few months. Not actually because of his themes though. It’s because of his constant flow of new & very attractive wallpapers. Don’t get it twisted though. I’m stoked to be reviewing a brand new theme from Pootermobile. Kahel is totally refreshing. Compatibility for many OS6 devices (see tags) and BlackBerry 7.0 – 7.1 devices including Curve 9350, 9360, 9370, Bold 9790, 9900, 9930, 9981, Torch 9850, 9860 & 9810.

Kahel Features

• Default OS7/OS6 layout
• Wallpaper friendly
• Custom icons
• Media player skinned

[Review] Crispy by BerryGlowDesigns

It slightly bothers me to see designer themes like this one not flying off the virtual shelf yet. BerryGlowDesigns is one of the most ambitious Theme Builders left in the world of BlackBerry and his work deserves to be on your BlackBerry. His latest theme Crispy takes some bold direction with a slight familiarity with his awesome Phantom series of themes, using the same style icon set. This is a wicked theme. Read on to find out why I think so.

Crispy theme features:

• subtle embedded banners on the home screen

• glass like icon focus

• “Crispy” customized OS7 icon set

• ease to use, lagless and wallpaper friendly

• vibrant custom battery/signal/wifi meters

• very low file size

• smooth screen transitions added to OS5 devices

[Review] Jam Couleur 3-in-1 themes by HedoneDesign

[Review] Jam Couleur 3-in-1 themes by HedoneDesign

Mmm, HedoneDesigns new minimalist-meets-Hedone style is one evolved and tasty look for BlackBerry owners. The Jam Couleur 3-in-1 themes bring you 3 optional colors (blue, red & yellow). But don’t forget the original HedoneDesign Jam theme! Which we should have reviewed sooner but decided to run one review for all of them. The original maintains a black focus essentially exchanging all black & white in each icon with the opposite.
