Hot off the presses or should I say Stevie’s PC is his latest theme release called ‘Cobra.’ I had just finished my review of BB Design Worx great theme ‘Greyscale‘ when I got an email to do a review of their new ‘Cobra‘ theme.

As I was downloading it I checked their website to take a peek as to what it would look like, and I was not sure if this would be a theme for me. Lime green is the color splashed all over the theme and the Icons are the same great looking ones from the Greyscale theme but this time they are surrounded by the lime green back drop and have a 3d focus that looks sick.

After I installed ‘Cobra‘ I was struck by the style of the homescreen as it was a look I had not seen in any other theme. This alone tells me BB Design Worx is pushing out themes that are not copy cat or knock offs of other developers work. It takes talent and imagination to create and develop a theme that stands out like no other theme and using it for a couple of days it quickly earned it’s way into my Blackberry’s theme collection. They are producing themes by pushing the envelope in design without losing functionality. They have won me over with their Greyscale, i6 and now Cobra themes all very different in design to give my Blackberry a fresh look each time I change themes. The homescreen is a true work of art that makes my phone stand out from the common themes we see other developers selling online.

The homescreen is simple but very unique at the same time with 3 banners for easy readability with the main feature being the battery and signal meter graph placed for very easy viewing. I am one that always wants to know my battery and signal strength and BB Design Worx has made this the main feature of the homescreen with an easy to read graph that functioned just as it is supposed to. I wanted to test the signal graph so I used it in different environments along side my Wife’s Blackberry Curve and it was spot on as was the battery meter. I have to tip my hat to BB Design Worx for this impressive design.

Above the battery and signal graph sits another banner that holds 15 user customizable scrolling Icons that show you 5 Icons at a time, a feature I always enjoy, as I can stay on the homescreen and access all of my favorite Icons. Navigating the scrolling Icon dock was very smooth giving you 3 screens of 5 Icons at a time to total your 15. The slim banner on the bottom of the screen holds all your notifications for easy viewing and the slim top banner has the time, date and connection indications. .

The more I used the theme the more I began to like the lime green look with black Icons designed by BB Design Worx and after using the Greyscale theme the Icons, being the same, are well made and fit right in with my 3rd party Icons. Just as their previous theme a lot of hotspots are available so you may never have to leave the homescreen and the wallpaper, that cannot be changed, is made with shades of black and soft grey to really bring out the prominent green style of the theme.. I have really taken an interest in the work that BB Design Worx is putting out and the style and functions are what really catches my attention as all of their themes are very different and come at you with a look you will not see from any other developer. For all that is built into this theme it still comes in at only 480 kb to give you the speed and flow we like on our Blackberry’s. On sale for only $1.99 at the Berryfication Store this theme can be enjoyed by everyone who wants style, looks and functionality all in one package.
