Crochet Buddy HD for BlackBerry PlayBook by OSBB Code Labs
Immediately, I couldn’t be more excited to see something so original hit the PlayBook. And what better team than the guys behind OSBB & the newly unveiled OSBBx. Crochet Buddy HD is an application for those who love to crochet as well as users looking to get into crocheting. We’ll break into some of the features and function after the feature list below.

J.D. BBMed me one day not long ago with news about his first BlackBerry PlayBook app, and when he told me what it would be pertaining to I remember sharing my enthusiasm with a vengeance.
Crochet Buddy is quiet nearly perfect in every way. Now I must admit, though I appreciate the product, I am not the crocheting type. But when I was much younger I recall having a babysitter teach me to crochet, though my motive was not pure. That may be a different story entirely. Haha. Any who I was lucky to get an early peek at this app after meeting J.D. and the OSBB team during BlackBerry World 2012. He had decided to build an app that his girlfriend could take full advantage of all-the-while giving new users a chance to get involved in a timeless hobby such as crocheting.
Alright so how’s the app look? Judging from the images I have laid in front of you. I’d say it’s pretty damn attractive. Every element is right in front of you. From How-to-Videos to a Row Counter that will help you stay on track. It’s great for seasoned users and even better to get started crocheting on.
Keep in mind this is not an application that’s trying to sell you something. You’ll buy your crocheting material and this app will make your life a ton easier. They’ve packed in crocheting abbreviations, symbols, hook sizes and even a simple Calculator. The user-interface is readable to most anyone. The colors, buttons and menus are appealing, including the the color scheme and design. I highly recommend it if you love to crochet, want to learn or teach yourself to crochet or know anyone who loves to crochet.
Besides the main features OSBB Code Labs even gives you a nice offering of patterns via third party sources. So there’s nothing they haven’t covered. Quite impressive for an app that will cost you less than a pack of gum. Crochet Buddy HD sells for just $0.99 and is available in App World at the link below.
