An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the centre of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth’s equator. An Equinox by BerryGoodThemes can give you the
same situation. Created in bright hues of orange/yellow (daylight) and blue (sunset/sunrise) and bordered in the color of night (black), you feel like you have the full day at your finger tips.
At the top and bottom of the homescreen, you have a black banners that hold the date, notifications, time, signal, and battery. Nestled in the middle of the screen, you have a bright, vibrant orange wallpaper. The wallpaper gives you the sense of a wheat field in Nebraska. At the top of the wallpaper, you have 4 fixed icons in a box of blue. Calendar, messages, SMS, and phone. Scrolling up and selecting them will grant you a hidden today area and change the icons to orange. At the bottom of the wallpaper you are offered 6 customizable icons.
The icon set on this theme is really something. I like the look and feel and they definitely accentuate the design. The color scheme is continue through the menus, dialog boxes and application areas. My personal favorite of this theme though…. is the call screen. The font is perfect, the color is perfect, the layout…perfect. All sitting on top of a different orange wallpaper that has a spiral design. Looking at the call screen is refreshing. Very eye pleasing.
I do have a few small issues with this theme on my Tour 9630. The first is that the fonts seem to be a little too big on some message screens. Good news though, I have talked to BerryGoodThemes and they are looking into it. The second…it’s a personal preference and nothing I would expect the developer to change. I like to view a wallpaper and not have icons all over the homescreen. Changing the wallpaper didn’t look to well but that was the issue of the wallpaper I choose. So if you like a to hide icons or use very colorful wallpapers, you probably won’t stick with this theme. It is, however, a top notch theme that shows another theme developer with major promise. I’ll be looking forward to reviewing more of their themes in the future!
