Oh October. You bring us Halloween. Probably my favorite times of the year. Cool weather, hay rides, chili, CANDY, the beginning of a few crazy months of holidays. And the most important reason…close to my birthday! I’m generally disappointed by holiday themes as they come off really cheesy. Thankfully, O o Fry o O of BlackBerry Voodoo has blown that out of the water.

Halloween 10 features an animated home screen which displays a perfectly subtle glowing Jack o’ lantern sitting on a spooky hill with an awesome moon silhouette. The wallpaper cannot be changed. Across the bottom dock, there’s a built in surprise. While scrolling across, when you hit icon 2 a witch silhouette darts across the sky (top of the screen). When you get to the 4th icon, a spider dropping from its web from down from the top right to the middle of the screen. The animation is when you get to the 6th icon on the bottom dock. Highlighting that icon will show bats flying across an eerie moonlight night from the right middle of your screen.
The awesomeness doesn’t stop there. The icon set in Halloween 10 is crisp and stand out. White icons inside a black circle really jump out. These are icons stick to Halloweens core. Besides the usually icons, you’ll also see playful ghosts, skulls, and an alien. The focus icon is clear with a white spider web overlay. The homescreen also includes a hidden today area with two entries, custom battery and signal meters that are digitalized, transparent dialog and menu popups, and some screen transitions. Halloween 10 is currently available for all 480×360 BlackBerry devices running OS 5.0 . You can pick it up in the Berryfication Store for $4.99. Even better, Halloween 10 comes in under 900kb. Won’t be a burden on your device at all!
