Help Desk: Make Google your default search engine

This is one of the first things I do whenever I open up a new BlackBerry device, not that I dislike Bing terribly. But I do prefer and use Google services much more in my everyday life. So in our first Help Desk post users will learn how they can make their favorite search engine the default.
Sure we aren’t the first to bring this type of news to users. However with so many new users all the time we feel it would be a great post for many new and seasoned users. What’s the result when you make a search engine like Google the default? Well now whenever you launch the native BlackBerry browser, you will be able to just start typing in the main search field to get results only from Google or your favorite engine.
Step 1: Launch your BlackBerry browser.
Step 2: Hit the BlackBerry menu key. Scroll to Options and select options.
Step 3: From within Browser Option scroll down a little till you find Manage Search Engines and select that option.
Step 4: From within Manage Search Engines select + New Search Engine.
Step 5: Name your new Search Engine. For example Google or Berryfication under the Name field:

Step 6: For Google type this exactly in the Address field: http://www.google.com/m/search?q=%s
Step 7: Be sure to save your changes. Now from the Manage Search Engines screen again, highlight Google in the list of search engines and select it to make this your Default setting.

And that’s it! Now you can enjoy using Google any time you open your browser without having to first go to a bookmark or typing google.com, etc.
**On a side note you can also add Berryfication in this same fashion. Just place this in a new Address field: http://www.berryfication.com/index.php?s=%s

Then you’ll be able to simply type things like Blaq to see all 14 posts we’ve ever done on Blaq as an example.
