When I start talking about Jawbone products I noticed something.. I get animated, roused. Jawbone puts all that sugar and caffeine in their products like they love what they do! The latest product they sent us is their ICON HD + The Nerd. A perfect solution to work privacy and much more.

I’ve become a fan of many products over the last few years. We go against the grain and maybe we haven’t been following the blogger handbook like we should. But the difference is we share pictures, promo images, run giveaways and post reviews to products we swear by more than just doing a company a favor. If a product doesn’t run to my expectations, we don’t post it until it does.

Every product by Jawbone has stunned us. Their ERA is a daily reminder that I can rock my swagger while keeping myself and others safer on the road. See our review of the ERA: http://www.berryfication.com/enter-the-jawbone-era-another-best-by-jawbone/

The Jambox is legendary. My favorite piece of technology since the Nintendo Wii. A classic hip-hop style speaker set with an output capacity of 85 decibels. Very rich sound, completely wireless. Connects via Bluetooth. Will work with PlayBook OS 2.0 which now includes the A2DP service that connects the two. Or use a very tough flat wire to connect your PlayBook OS 1.7 in the meantime. Also connects to iPhone, iPad, Android, tablets, PC, Mac and much more! See our review of the Jambox: http://www.berryfication.com/meet-the-jambox-little-box-loud-sound-lots-of-style-by-jawbone/

I was originally introduced to these guys when connecting with their awesome marketing and PR team over Twitter at https://twitter.com/jawbone. They sent us some of the original ICON headsets and it was all over from there. See our review of the ICON: http://www.berryfication.com/jawbone-icon-accessory-by-jawbone/.

Now I’m holding the ICON HD + The NERD. I never stopped loving this headset (The ICON I mean). Now with the added HD and rockstar Demin, it’s increased my blood pressure all over again. The Denim Bundle which I am reviewing comes with the both the Denim ICON HD + The NERD in Denim. They also offer an ICON HD in the “Black Thinker” style w/out The NERD. Plus you can purchase The NERD separately in either Denim or a smooth “Black Satin” style.

Day 1: I find a familiar package, some Jawbone staple accessories and a wicked treat [The NERD] inside.

1. Jawbone ICON HD – Denim
2. The NERD
— USB Audio Adapter (Wire-Free)
3. Sprout Earbuds
— Fit option A x3 styles
4. Round Eatbuds
— Fit option B x4 styles
5. Biauaral Earloop
— Connects Fit option B around ear
6. Micro USB Cable
7. AC Charger
8. Complete User Guide

I took all the goodies out. Inspected the denim ICON HD + matching NERD — USB Audio Adapter. Plugged The NERD into one of the USB ports on my Sony Vaio laptop. It took maybe 60 seconds to get paired up and experience my first YouTube video in the 10mm wideband speaker (HD audio). I wished only slightly that I’d be able to stick another ICON HD in my other ear. But it didn’t take long to get more comfortable having it in one ear. I’m not a huge YouTube watcher, but I do use http://www.rdio.com/ and http://www.slacker.com/ habitually. You can also rock with http://music.aol.com/http://www.pandora.com/ and so on.

The other key element is for work environments. Having the ability to connect The NERD to your computer gives you a sleek new hands-free experience at work. Take a call, make a call, and then switch back to your favorite radio service. Using Skype or GoogleTalk is awesome with the ICON HD. I tried both and was more than happy to ditch the big bulky headset I had used previously.

Day 2: I get up, day off, check the BlackBerry for messages, drink my coffee, switch to the PlayBook, launch the laptop, launch Rdio and pick a random Hopesfall album and start work like usual. Normally I wouldn’t be able to listen to music whenever I wanted. Not at home office nor my work office. It’s disruptive to some others unfortunately.

Now I decided I would head over to http://us.blackberry.com/communities/ to review the content that RIM shared and had highlighted by the larger blogs during CES2012, all the while maintaining that private HD listening. It was awesome! Normally I wouldn’t watch so many YouTube videos. But that in-your-ear sound intensified my experience. So in just a day I’ve already become a bigger fan of YouTube thank you Jawbone.

Day 3: Now that I’ve gotten the hang of using The NERD I figured it would be good to get my BlackBerry paired as well. This was a little tricky at first since I thought I needed to pair through The NERD. The ICON HD is it’s very own stand-alone bluetooth device. Setting up pairing from the ICON HD is simple. Hold the top button down while switching the ICON HD on and pairing for mobile devices will initiate.

A familiar technology for me, since I had the original ICON, then ERA, now what having the ICON HD + The NERD gives you is that added wireless access to two A2DP devices or Simultaneous A2DP Multipoint. Example, my PlayBook and The NERD via PC/Mac.

If you have an ERA by Jawbone, the real difference there is ERA uses NoiseAssassin® 3.0, the ICON HD is NoiseAssassin® 2.5. ERA adds Automatic Volume Control. Also Caller ID by Name (via MyTALK). ICON HD only allows for Caller ID by Phone Numbers (via MyTALK). They both offer a bevvy of wonderful and unique features. See the full breakdown and comparison list here: http://www.jawbone.com/headsets/compare.

This is why ICON HD + The NERD will remain with me at work and home, and the ERA will go with me in the car, jogging, etc. I’ve come accustomed to the Motion Controls, Built in Accelerometer and other quick-to tricks that keep my hands and eyes on the road.

Final verdict on the ICON HD + The NERD: I give it a 9.0/10. Another must-have from the team that believes a swagger fashion and the highest level of technology are the future. We couldn’t agree more.
