How often is it we stumble upon a BlackBerry theme built by a professional designer with a well established portfolio? Well that’s exactly what happened when I caught this LegacyPro theme for BlackBerry Bold 6 devices by Benox Graphics.

LegacyPro is clean BlackBerry theme built with dual homescreens and some original features that are reminiscent of the wildly popular dare I say it, DreamTorch theme.
The work Benox Graphics has done is quite impressive. A PS3 ad, Simpy Orange ad to web design with complete HTML or CSS coding! They know their stuff. It’s very cool to see them dabble in the wonderful world of BlackBerry theme design which can be highly engaging with one of the best communities in mobile technology.

But how does the theme itself stack up? First thing that really got my attention was the beautiful graphic images for Legacy.. Seeing that this is their 3rd theme, it’s not like they’ve haven’t had a little practice first. But really this theme is nicely put together with custom navigation’s unlike any other BlackBerry 6 theme out now.
It might be a diamond in the rough only because of the BlackBerry 7.0 icons. However we’re still happily rocking plenty of themes iced out in the “new berry bravado” as well as growing more and more anxious of their release so what’s there to complain about? The structure is very crisp with 3 clickable [selectable] shortcuts in the upper banner area. They are, Managed Connections, Clock and a very cool drop-down Today area. This Hidden Today drops down over your Dual Screens like a tinted window. Slide to the right for Calendar entries & back to the left for Messages. Click back out to hide your Today visor again.

The dual home screens are easily navigated by selecting the white arrow to the left and right of each screen. One hides all your icons for Wallpaper Only lovers and the other reveals them. Other features allow users to hide the weather [OCD spot] as well as hide the white arrow on the screens too.
And really just seeing what kind of care and detail that went into first the promotional images and second the unique homescreen navigation is plenty to put Benox on our map. If their next move is to start putting the same energy into making quality custom icons we may get lucky and see them showing off again.
The price of LegacyPro may be a little steep for some at $4.99, but the energy and willingness to evolve is there. I think we might see more from them and hopefully sooner than later too.
