The Wikimedia Foundation recently released this FREE Wikipedia application for our beloved BlackBerry PlayBook. This has to be one of my favorite sites to use for a quick reference on just about anything. Now anyone who’s using tablet 2.x or higher can enjoy the privilege as well.
You must have BlackBerry Tablet 2.0 or higher installed for this Wikipedia to function properly. We’re pretty sure most users do but if you don’t the latest OS yet, get more info here.
Now that I’ve had a day or so to use this application I’m finding myself wondering how I did it without for so long. Usually I’d just launch the mobile app on my smartphone when I needed a quick reference.
Wikipedia supports both landscape and portrait orientations. Some items will launch through the tablet browser, but from what I’ve noticed the app actually loads up just about everything right inside. Check out Wikipedia from your PlayBook now.
