QuickLaunch 3.0 by NikkiSoft is Here folks! Exploding onto BlackBerry 9700 users devices today and is the Highest anticipated update since OS6.0.

Strip my BlackBerry of all it’s extra’s. Take it all away. Fine. But leave me my QuickLauch or I’ll punch your eyes out! We’ll crack your teeth in half. That’s no doubt a small understatement. As you all know QuickLaunch is constantly referred to by us here at Berryfication because it has become a staple in our everyday lives. NikkiSoft has been deep undercover for quite a while. Updates for QuickLaunch have not been nearly as often as they were just a few months back. Well there’s been a damn good reason for that. And looking at all these brilliant pictures, you’ll see why. They’ve been saving up. If you don’t know QuickLaunch is an application that add’s some much needed support to your BlackBerry Smartphone, works on all Devices and is just under a fiver. Giving you essentially the ability to launch any app (3rd party or native) from almost any screen in your BlackBerry. The basic functions are easy to learn. Some of the more advanced features may take some tinkering to get the hang of. But it doesn’t take things to far. Not like some things where they read like how to download a leaked OS. And QuickLaunch is in the process of it’s biggest update to date.
Lucky for me I have a 9550, so I am getting an early peek at QuickLaunch 3.0 and this allows us to do a full review of the product with “NEW” features included. Even if your not on Storm, and if you don’t own QuickLaunch, you can buy it today. You’ll love the application even without the new features. And your surprise will come shortly.

The first 2 Big features previous owners will notice is 1 the hot new look! Tech-fire icon that’s a slimmed down and more aesthetically pleasing design. And 2 is the transparency: You can now set the transparency level in the menu background when a color is specified. (seen above) And that color choice is now a New addition as well, since you can select a color option for the menu background along with having the option as the previous version included the background image to be set also.

Because of the highly unique differences in many themes colors and changing views when switching from the Homescreen to Application View screen we feel it will be a great value to have this Background Color Tranparency option. As shown in the picture above or screenshot 2. Also note Font Size now has a Larger option. Menu Border Size is an awesome feature! Giving you the option to toggle between Default and Minimum. The Default is the “black border” you see wrapped around the transparent pink background color in Screen 1, two screen shots up. And the Minimum option will remove that black border entirely, giving you a clean clear looking QuickLaunch view. The next feature is the Menu Width which will widen the menu wide and accommodate the length of the largest menu item in the list. Lastly you see the Check for Update button on the bottom left of screen 2 (right above) and that is a feature NikkiSoft has had before and removed. But now it’s back. It allows users to Update right within the App and only the App. No more bother with going to your Berryfication/MobiHand/App World accounts to Update ever again! We hope

Did you think that was it? Ha ha! No, there’s more, much more. See the differences in the new icon for instance in the picture above here? Looks pretty sexy when it’s on the screen. Per NikkiSoft, WJD Designs helped to improve things. Well from what we understand Wayne and Team got down on this icon and quite frankly modernized it. Tech-sexy-hot! Now the QuickLaunch view in this screen above has the Blacked out background and includes the Default “Black Boarder.” Just another way to make things fresh.

Other New features include 2 alternate launch methods. This has added the ability to launch some applications that just weren’t able to be launched in previous builds. Popular feature, Screen Capture has an added option now to be placed in the system menu. Scheduled Reboots are now an option as well. Which means some users can delete other apps they may have that were used specifically for “scheduled reboots.” There’s an options Subpage shortcut: this means you can now set a shortcut to things in the BlackBerry Main Options Menu such as “Themes” or “Mobile Network” even “BerryBuzz” or “BerryMail” Yikes!! Password Toggle Shortcut: Toggle your device password option on & off. This is just incredible. We, I and I imagine YOU will not have any hard feelings about spending the $4.99 for New Customers and $1.99 for anyone who purchased QuickLaunch prior to Feb 1st 2010. That’s not even all the features. There’s a few more. Please check our original QuickLauch Review for more of what QuickLaunch offers that isn’t a 3.0 addition. HERE> QuickLaunch REVIEW. I think you’ll love what we’ve had to say. For more info on the updates and/or combination of features see the link below or head over to NikkiSoft.com <HERE! Enjoy and pick up a copy below if you don’t own it already. Remember only 9500 series is updated to the 3.0 at this time. Other devices will follow shortly.
