The moment I saw this game in the App World ‘New Arrivals’ I knew it was going to be off the hook. 9mm is not an open sandbox game like GTA however, but the gameplay and storyline are similar with a vengeance more like Max Payne.
Features:
° Dive headlong into stylish gunfights where you’ll jump, shoot and fire clip after clip in stunning slow-motion stunts to take out rooms full of criminals.
° Catch gang leaders and informants alive, chasing them through the city streets and taking them aside for a not-so-friendly chat in the interrogation challenge.
° Go online to join friends and other opponents in Free for All and Team Deathmatch gunfights for up to 12 players on 4 different maps.
° Become engrossed in the dark story of gang wars, crooked cops and betrayal that will take you through 12 levels and lead you from the dankest slums all the way to Mexico.
° Arm yourself with an arsenal of weapons, including a pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, grenade launcher and more.
° A hip-hop/rap soundtrack that intensifies the tone of the game, including established artists such as Apathy, Beanie Sigel, Freeway & Jake One.

No matter how you look at the history of this genre it goes without saying that these games are the highly addictive, mature & loaded with tons of “holy shit” moments.
9mm starts off with a bang. Your John “Loose” Kannon a slightly dirty, more street savvy cop that finds himself in over his head shortly after the first shoot-out in Bandera Heights. Game-play is pretty smooth and looks great on the PlayBook. I didn’t notice a big difference from the Android version beside having a much larger screen on PlayBook.

The guns are awesome. Almost every shoot-out you advance through brings a new hand gun, shotgun, uzi etc. You just need to remember to run over and switch out your current gat for the upgrade. In all the time playing 9mm I haven’t once ran out of ammo. And I really like that you can just pause the game at any moment to shop. You won’t find a lot of weapons here. But explosive ammo, 3 life vests, and a couple special weapons are just a click away.
One issue with 9mm right now is the missing save feature. Was the game simply intended to be played through? Honestly I don’t think so. Assuming it was a bug they missed and we should see an update any day makes the most sense. If you leave the app running on the PlayBook you can go back to any level completed or continue from the last check point. But once the application is closed, that’s it. Your back to square one. In my first attempt to play the game through on medium I unfortunately ran into a check point bug. Not a deal breaker by any means. Though this could be why Gameloft launched the game at a value price of $0.99.

As I played 9mm I found the interactive missions and unique achievements to be some of the more original moments. But let’s not deny the best part, popping gangsta’s in the head for those head-shot achievements! 9mm is currently available at $0.99 with or without a save option this game should not be missed in my opinion.
