SocialScope Lite by Ubiquitous Systems is the most powerful Facebook, multiple Twitter accounts, flickr & foursquare client on any mobile phone platform around. If you own it, you love it! If you don’t, you want it!

Also known as the social inbox, SocialScope Lite is available by invite only! Therefore it’s still considered to be in “closed beta”. Sign-up at getsocialscope.com and wait as patiently as possible, as you’ll come to find we’ve all had to go through this same process.
Why, the social inbox? Easy. SocialScope Lite integrates right into your BlackBerry Smartphone Messages application. This is an optional feature but it’s very convenient for finding (@) Mentions & (DM) Direct Messages from your friends on Twitter. Also Facebook messages, flickr comments will show in your Messages application.
Until most recently, around the last week to 10 days everyone with SocialScope Lite had been on different versions. Some were on older builds, few were on the newer versions. And it was just a big guessing game. The blind leading the blind. However Ubiquitous Systems suddenly changed all that. First they began rolling out “Invites” to brand new users. Basically if you asked them on Twitter @SocialScope and you were in fact a “new user” they hooked you up… maybe. Sure they couldn’t accommodate everyone. We’re sure even current users tried their best to trick them into hooking them up too, even though they let us all know that it would be in just a couple weeks that everyone with SocialScope Lite would receive an update soon!

And that’s exactly what happened. First v0.9.5.129 then v0.9.5.136 just a few days later. I’m not sure about you but here at Berryfication we are pumped! We love our SocialScope Lite application and I wouldn’t hesitate to pay $20 for the full version if they asked for it. As a matter of fact SS is the only Client worth as much money, for all the trouble users give them. Every 5 minutes or less you can find someone asking for an invite, an invite for their friend, Wife, Mom & you get the picture. After all this Ubiquitous Systems still hasn’t begun to charge for the application. Yet people will still be people.
So you got a SocialScope Lite invite, aye? What’s next? How does this work? Well you’ve received a very unique “invite-code” and this is your ticket to the Disneyland of Social Networking for the mobile phone industry! The rush you feel is better than a roller-coaster, because it’s not going to end in 5 minutes.
I still get that same rush with every update they award me. So let’s get started! First thing.. Step 1. Download the application/client from getsocialscope.com Step 2. Select “Join” & type in your unique “invite-code” Step 3. Select “Create Account” Now your ready to go!

You’ll be able to begin adding your social networks right away. The cool thing too, is if your rocking 2 Twitter accounts you can tweet simultaneously from them both. Actually you can tweet from up to 2 and update your Facebook feed all at once should you choose to. And that’s not all you’ll do. Checking in from foursquare is a highly popular option. As a matter of fact it’s Ubiquitous Systems that really helped put foursquare on the map. Few people had ever heard of foursquare it prior to SS adding the social site into their client a while back. I used it for a long time before I grew bored of the application. So I just removed it from my feed. Simple as that.
Features features features.. SocialScope Lite has it all. It’s not an opinion it’s a fact. They’ve added the Full Facebook Experience: Upping this to 1000x better rich experience. Sure it’s an exaggeration but with features like Full Facebook Profiles, Facebook Friends Lists, Private Messages, Notifications and more they truly can boast that “SocialScope is the best way to use Facebook on your BlackBerry!”

Other features include Inbox Integration: A powerful way to view and receive your SocialScope Lite Messages, Mentions, DM’s and more! Mute: Which gives you the user the ability to silence someone or even an application such as “Farmville” even Topics. You can block all these from appearing in your feed for 1 hour, 1 day or Forever! Plus you even get the option to tell the person or application? why you Muted them. This has got to be one of the coolest Twitter features ever! Not that we need to tell people and sure you can always just unfollow some people. but we don’t always want to do that.
Let’s see what else was given to us recently. Reduced Battery Usage: they claim to have tweaked & tuned some things to dramatically reduce and optimize battery usage. Honestly I’ve always said that SocialScope Lite is easy on my battery. I leave it running about 90% of my day. I’m also on a Storm 9550 running the most recent OS. This may vary for users on other devices/OS’s but I’ll still say good things about it because most & newer Twitter clients are hogs. And this is a social networking client. So it gets even more praise. Interface Tweaks: SocialScope is faster and easier to use. And they claim to have made interface tweaks throughout the application from user feedback. Both are very true. The app is a bit smoother than prior to these 2 recent updates. And I’ve gotten a lot of replies from sending feedback. You’ll find this option in your Settings at the very bottom “Send Feedback.”

Some of the other things stated in the emails to users we’re Invites: it did say “coming later this week” in the mail a couple weeks ago. I’ve seen what looks like people using this feature but I do not have it myself. Maybe it’s at our request of maybe it will be something they’ll give us so many copies of “to share” in a future update. This is the most popular application across just about any platform, mobile phone or ect. So it will be nice to be able to share these. They’ve also has lots of Bug Fixes: as it said in the emails. 2 in particular were URL shrinking, issues with removing Twitter accounts. Other little things like location look up and more were pimped out to run smoothly.
Funny I can write forever about SocialScope Lite by the Ubiquitous Systems and I barely scratched the surface. I forgot to mention all the Settings features and more. You can really trick out what you receive notifications for like All Messages, Public Replies, Direct Messages, Mentions @ either of your Twitter accounts, flickr, Facebook Posts and then Tabs you’ve set up with favorite friends, ect.

Advanced Settings include Spell Check, Display Name (real names), Escape to Tabs, Spell Check, Font Size, Use Signature, and more. Connection Settings like Auto, BES, BIS, TCP, WIFI. Image Upload Services include Plixi (TweetPhoto formerly) or TwitPic. Set your Refresh Frequency to Auto, every 5 mins, 15 mins, 1 hour, Manual and so on. Send Feedback, and Check for Updates right inside the application.
They included all the basics too. Search, Trends, Facebook Friends, Facebook Pages, Go To Twitter User, My Profile, Near Me, Public Timeline. It’s just to good to be true. From your keyboard press [T] to get to the top of your timeline or [B] to get to the bottom. [A] to add to a List. ie Twitter List or SocialScope Group (which you can make for your friends ect) [U] for Update. [D] for Direct Message. Yes there’s probably a few I’m leaving out. Is it worth all the trouble? Yes! It’s very much worth the wait. It lives up to the hype and then some. No it’s not just a Twitter client. SocialScope Lite is the ultimate client. I think once they decide to put a price tag on it that it’s probably going to go for $9.95 to $14.95. However it’s still worth more in my opinion!
