No this is not another instant messaging service. Ekboo – Crypto Chat is much more clever than that in my opinion. Ekboo is all about data confidentiality. The application communicates using encrypted messages with RSA asymmetric key algorithm.

Sounds a little confusing, I know. But the idea is pretty slick. Especially if you prefer to keep your BBM’s private. Maybe your working on a Startup, or plain don’t like the idea of the people in your office, home reading your BBM messages.
Features
° Communicate using encrypted messages with RSA asymmetric key algorithm
° Exchange of keys on the fly
° Notifications, in a transparent manner to the user, communicates the receipt and reading of every message sent to the recipient even in case of temporary unread messages
° Textbomb
° Remote Clear Chat
° Panic Button
° Pin Lock Chat

One of my personal favorite Theme Builders, Pootermobile put together a ravishing new theme! Delicioso – Spanish for delicious is another reminder why we deserve to have themes for all BlackBerry devices.

Delicioso is compatible for all BlackBerry devices running OS 5.0 & OS 6.0! Knowing that many of our fans are still counting on our high quality reviews even those not yet on 7.x OS, we thought we’d better post this tasty treat up!
I kept changing the title of this post to say “Photo Studio PRO & FREE version updated to bring some awesome new features, or “Photo Studio..” but it was too long. And the bottom line is I love the new Photo Studio: PicFrames addition! Upon other improvements.

Good friend and big contributor @SamgbxDesigns pointed out Velvet, the latest theme from pioneer developers Elecite. Damn, it’s just another reminder that RIM has some of the most talented designers behind their products.

Velvet looks delicious. It is however only compatible with OS 4.6 to 6.0. Specific devices can be found in the tags below or the theme itself in BlackBerry App World.
VELVET FEATURES:
° Fluid Performance
° 6 Categories
° 7-9 Customizable Icons
° 16 Quick-Access Photo Icons
° Social Icons
° Weather Slot
° Intuitive Navigation
° Modern Layout Design
When it comes to themes, as I’ve previously mentioned, I’m a functionality guy. I prefer themes that get me shortcuts to my most used apps so I don’t have to go searching through the menu. With shortcuts, I can flip from BBM to SMS to FaceBook to Twitter and back in a heartbeat. It’s one of the things I love about my BlackBerry. Yet BlackBerry users use themes for many different reasons.

Some people use themes to change the layout of the icons. That was key back in the days of BB OS4 and BB OS5. My first theme was a Crossbar theme. I changed my Pearl 8100 from having 6 icons across the bottom to having 10 icons I could scroll through in the center of the screen. I loved it and immediately understood why people loved themes.
EmacBerry slipped out another rich update to one of the best BlackBerry apps today. v2.8.0.1 is now live or rolling out for FileScout, FileScoutLite & the Trial Version for those who purchased elsewhere originally like MobiHand stores like ours.
° FileScout & FileScoutLite ZIP-file handing have been re-written
° With the new v2.8.0.1 build there should be no limitation concerning the file size of ZIP-Archives that you could browse or de-compress with FileScout (or FileScoutLite)
° When you unzip a large (e.g. 100MB+) archive, please have in mind that you still hold a mobile device in your hands (and not a PC or Mac equipped with a SSD). Most of the time that is required (to process an ZIP-Archive) will be needed for the actual reading (of the compressed stream) and the writing (of the de-compressed data)
° The new build will also report almost instantly, if an archive can’t be read by the application (probably cause it is corrupted/broken)
° Please note that even if most of the ZIP code have been rewritten FileScout is still not able to read password protected archives – sorry
Go check out this and all previous Changelogs of FileScout here: http://www.emacberry.com/bbfs/bbfilescout_04log.html.
FileScoutLite users can update via device here!
FileScout Pro & Trial users can update via device here!

Smarter Apps slipped this gem out right before Christmas and we just didn’t get a chance to issue a fair review at the time. I picked Vampire Hunter up shortly thereafter and quickly got hooked on it like many previous games in their trove.

Vampire Hunter is a premium priced game coming in at $4.99, with compatibility for every BlackBerry device running OS 4.7 to 7.0. And after getting the last 3 Free from SA it seemed a fair price to pay for a 4th game I’d end up loving as well.
