Good friend and big contributor @SamgbxDesigns pointed out Velvet, the latest theme from pioneer developers Elecite. Damn, it’s just another reminder that RIM has some of the most talented designers behind their products.
Velvet looks delicious. It is however only compatible with OS 4.6 to 6.0. Specific devices can be found in the tags below or the theme itself in BlackBerry App World.

Elecite just came flying back onto the BlackBerry theme radar out of nowhere! Just a couple weeks ago they dropped Ambient. Totally custom greatness. Now they’re popping off with Aurora, which makes me more anxious to see Theme Studio 7 news.
The latest theme is OS 5.0 & 6.0 compatible only. Devices include Curve 8900 series, Storm 9500 series, Tour 9630, Bold 9650, 9700, 9780 series and Torch 9800 only.
It’s great to see the first team to reach worldwide success is still pushing out high quality themes for fans and new comers alike. Elecite is the team, Ambient is their latest theme. This is the reason I’m still holding onto the BlackBerry 6 device as well. Good thing too!
Ambient is BlackBerry 5 & 6 compatible only for select devices. Curve 8900 series, Storm 9500 series, Tour 9630, Bold 9650, 9700 & 9780, plus Torch 9800. I’ve been running my copy on the Bold 9650 and it’s absolute brilliance.
Guess who’s back! This time Elecite has a brand new theme that’s very tough. These guys practically invented everything that’s manly about your BlackBerry. And now they’ve added power tools to the mix with Evolve..
They’ve selected only certain devices to build this complicated but clean new structure. And I still drop everything for these guys! Without Elecite I don’t think you’d even be reading our blog right now. They built up a lot of my interest and the influence of my need for the impossible!
Just when I get comfy with Elecite being iPhone Developers they push back to their roots and release their 3rd 6.0 non touch theme, Nova. It’s a simpler design with colorful picture icon panels at home. Non complex and windows icons in the app screen.
Nova like most of their work is compatible with Touch screen 6.0 and some 5.0 devices. Curve 8900 series, Storm 9500 series, Tour 9630, Bold 9650, 9700, 9780, and Torch 9800 also.
Because we are HUGE fans, Elecite mailed us last night to have us help introduce their sister company called, Strapped to a Meteor (www.strappedtoameteor.com). Their main focus for it is to expend into mobile games. And what could be more exciting than that!

Nice to see Elecite bring it back to the Berry with a simple but intuitive design at home. Echo enhances your homescreen experience like many Elecite themes. What draws this one differently is the 4 Wallpapers you can toggle through on-the-fly!
Maybe a day shy of me switching to BlackBerry 6 on my 9650. Sadly I didn’t get to check this out on my Bold. But I did slam it into the S2 and I’m very impressed with the simplicity and oodles of app access tucked in.

Elecite flash their ID’s and are quickly ushered to the front of the line, Wave is the latest and possibly one of the most exciting themes in recent times with it’s shimmering blue flame and circular navigation layers. These guys have continued to push the envelope. It’ll be interesting to see customer reactions.
We were pretty excited the other day when Mr B (the man behind) asked us to preview the theme first. I was skeptical but with so many great themes I had a good feel it would be a mind bender. And there’s a huge honor in being asked to check out the pioneering Theme Builders latest opus in many regards.
