You know the name, Mobster Mobile Design has been steady building lately, despite the lack of Theme Studio software for OS 7.0 devices. For now we’ll just have to overlook that and set our sights on MMD’s awesome new theme TheGrid! Inspired by an OS by FusionGarage, this is one you can’t miss!


TheGrid theme is compatible with most devices running OS 5.0 & 6.0. Curve 8900 series, 9300 & 9330. Bold 9000, 9650, 9700, 9780 & 9788. Pearl 9100 & 9105. Storm 9500 series, Tour 9630, Style 9670 & Torch 9800.

Now I know you know this is a sick theme already just by looking at the promo poster. MMD is sneaky sometimes. I actually loaded this up and thought it was just the user defined icons shown in the poster. Boy was I wrong. That girl can code! That area of apps beneath the ‘Custom’ title is just one of 4 sets of apps that you can have at home. Torch [touch] users can simply tap the right side of your screen to advance through Utilities, Media, Social and of course Custom. Non-touch users just continue to scroll to the right to bring up the different areas.

There’s also a Favorites icon that’s ideal of weather apps or anything you want to use there. Show it by pressing alt+ * and hide it by pressing alt+ # easy enough. All the hot colors here like fire and the burning sun pop out the custom silver icons like nothing before. I could just kiss her for sneaking all the BlackBerry logo prints into many of the icons. This is why I love themes and it’s odd to admit I’ll use my old 9650 while I’m home at night because of themes like this and the 9930 aka liquid graphics Bold will just sit hopelessly on the coffee table.

So to recap.. if your rocking a device on BlackBerry 5.0 – 6.0 and don’t mind spending a few dollars on something hot, TheGrid can fill that need quite quickly. Mobster Mobile Design has some more treats tucked up their sleeve too but this one is available now!
